Sixteen women who work in fiber arts — including long-time fiber artist Barbara Cade, tapestry artist and 2017 Living Treasure, weaver Louise Halsey, and Delta Exhibition veteran Dr. Deborah Kuster — have contributed work to the "All Women Fiber Arts Exhibition" opening Friday at the William F. Laman Public Library in North Little Rock. There will be a reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The show is the second all-women fiber arts show organized by artist Rachel Trusty; the first was called "Form in Fiber," shown last year at the Laman Library Argenta Branch.

Other artists in the show are Kimberly Kwee, who creates images in layers using stitched vellum; Melissa Gill, who works in printmaking and embroidery, among other mediums; Holly Laws, sculptor and installation artist; Marianne Nolley, a teacher and former student of Kuster's; Sofia Gonzalez, who works with natural dyes;

Kesha Stovall, Cairo-bound graduate of UA Little Rock; Sabrina Zarco, who uses embroidery to further social justice causes; Randi Curtis, who teaches art in Prescott; Lilia Hernandez, a native of Mexico who has made a name for herself here for her fabric work; Jane Hartfield, quilter from Fort Smith; Erin Lorenzen, mixed-media artist and creator of the I heart AR T-shirt; Teresa Schlabach, executive director of the Alma Education and Arts Foundation; and Trusty, whose embroid(HER) project features embroidered portraits celebrating "strong women."

That's a lineup of considerable talent.
