NEWS: "Feminine Gestures" Scholarly Article to be published in Journal

My article "Feminine Gestures: Challenging Objecthood through Black and White Performance Art" is going to be published in the International Journal of Arts Theory and History.

"Feminine Gestures" compares and contrasts themes in performance art created by Caucasian artists to performance art made by African American in the US in the 1960's and 1970's.

The article explores how Caucasian artists focused mainly on themes around domesticity, while African American artists focused on race and class.

This paper was presented in the summer of 2017 at the International Arts in Society Conference in Paris, France. The paper was part of the conference's special theme of "Gestures that Matter".
