ABOUT

Rachel Trusty is an artist, educator, and curator. She holds a Ph.D. in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Kansas (2022) and an MFA from Lesley College in Boston, MA (2011). Trusty currently works as a visiting Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies at Bucknell University.

Trusty's personal work focuses on themes of femininity, gender, and sexuality. She incorporates traditional women's materials such as fibers and techniques such as embroidery and sewing in her work. 

Her research explores how LGBT+ artists use materials and processes to discuss personal identity. Trusty is also interested in the intersection between Feminist and Queer approaches to research.
