Rachel Trusty is an artist, educator, and curator. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Program at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. She holds an MFA from Lesley College in Boston, MA. Trusty currently works as an online Art Instructor at the University of Arkansas Community College in Morrilton, AR.
Trusty's personal work focuses on themes of femininity, gender, and sexuality. She incorporates traditional women's materials such as fibers and techniques such as embroidery and sewing in her work.
Her research at the University of Kansas explores how LGBT+ artists use materials and processes to discuss personal identity. Trusty is also interested in the intersection between Feminist and Queer approaches to research.
